Density cyle on my pull-up Traiing is moving along slow but moving.

Got two days in this week with 25 sets of 4 reps in 25 minutes. THe hard part about this is the mental weight of 25 sets. Yeah it's only 4 pullups I'm doing in a minute and the rest of the minute is taken up with stretching but just doing this for 25 times can weigh on the mind. The first 2-3 sets, you just go all out with effort. You try to focus on technique and you tell yourself this is too easy. Usually about sets 12-15 you start to slack off as you start get get fatigued. To get over that hump, back off on the effort and really pay attention to your form and technique. Then about those last few sets you fell yourself shift into anouther gear so you can finish out on a high note.

Give up trying to run in my Vibram Five Finger Shoes and moving back to my regular shoes. I think it's a combination of too much too soon on my ankle. It just needs some moe time to adjust to "barefoot" Running. I need to focus on my 2.5 walk for my APFT in May anyhow. Shooting for under 30 minutes. Then I'll start my running training again.

Training is the same as last PT test, Reverse Elipticals from "Forward Pressure" DVD and Spinal rocks with the Medicine Ball All dome with the Tabata Protocal. 20sec work/10 sec rest for 8 rounds.
Alternate Days with Flow Fit and Clubbell Training. "Rest" on Weekends.

For what ever reason this spoke to me. I don't know why but I have a huge desire to run this race. Maybe it's becauses it's there. Maybe to prove a point or put my training to the test. I think it's to give me a goal to train for other than just general fitness. The Past few months I've been dabbling in my training; Pushing to get my anaerobic recovery down, More mobility and power generation all of which has helped my martial activities but since I don't fight enough nowdays to notice the results, I've been getting bored. PLus, deep down, part of me wants to push myself outside my comfort zone and return to the EMBRACE THE SUCK Philosophy. That part of me that enjoys the struggle and the fight.

So my run yesterday didn't go that well but went about as I expected. Running in the Vibram Five Finger shoes defiantly had a training effect on my ankles. They were no happy but with some movement and mobility training this morning, they are better. Or, it could be the drugs.

And as much as I want to go Full Tilt Boogie with my training, I'm slowly ramping up the work so I won't hit the overtraining wall.

This morning, was a warmup of Intu-FLow and 20 minutes on the treadmill for a slow walk to warm the body up. Then it was 5 sets of 5 Pullup with a bungie cord assist and 3 sec negative hangs at the top. Then 5 sets of 10 Creeper Crunches. Using the wheeled creeper from the shop, I went into pushup position and drawing the hips into the air and pulling the legs in like I was going into Crow Pose and back out to plank Pose.

Cooldown was Wind Removing Pose to loosen the low back, Downward Dog and Pigeon pose.
As always the first few days of any program will tweek as I go through it and add or modify to get the results I need and want.

New RMAX Magazine is out. My brother from another Mother, Joel Seymour and I have another article in it. Some great stories from the 2010 World MA Games as well.

After fighter practice I realized that even with good training program I'm doing, it can be better. For my needs training has to have a higher intensity muscular endurance
-wise and cardio-wise as well as recovery to compensate for the energy drain that extra weight wearing armour does to you. Fast twitch muscle fibers need to to be trained ballisticly and all of this done under time limits with minimal rest to enhance recovery. Compensatory movements will aid in increasing mobility.
Also, combative skill training needs to be bumped up on the priority scale. Not enough of that and it shows in my performance.

Trying gout the new Live Journal Facebook crossover. Much Like Marvel vs DC probably while both are good on their own, they don't combine quite well.

You would figure with the special effects and all the origional Conan stories out there they could come up with something other than an almost direcct remake of the Arnold Conan.

Peoanlly, I wold love to see HBO or Showtime take up the Howard Mantel and just do a series with all his stories. Imagine a season of Conan stories (honestly, most of them could run in an hour or a t least a two part story then a season of SOloman Kane, then special Hallowenn stories(Pigeons from Hell) and other stuff. I think that it would be a huge hit.

But this just looks like shit already.
